Police in Belfast issue appeal after assault with baseball bats during burglary

Shortly before midnight it was reported that three masked males carrying baseball bats forced their way into a house and assaulted the two occupants.

DETECTIVES IN BELFAST are appealing for information following an aggravated burglary in the Green Walk area of Newtownabbey last night.

Shortly before midnight it was reported that three masked males carrying baseball bats forced their way into a house in the area.

They assaulted a male and female occupant who both required hospital treatment. However their injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Anyone with any information about this incident is asked to contact CID in Newtownabbey Police Station on 0845 600 8000. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
