THIS DRAMATIC FOOTAGE released by police in Armagh shows an ATM robbery going completely awry.
One of the gang is seen to drive a digger at the wall of a petrol station in an attempt to extract the ATM cash machine. When this failed, he sets fire to the digger and then takes off in a white van with two other men.
However, PSNI officers in Craigavon say that one of the men has possibly sustained burn injuries in the failed raid – you can see flames very close to him in the video – and might be looking for treatment.
The robbery happened at 3am on Thursday, 23 October this year at the premises on Dobbin Road, Portadown, Co Armagh.
The digger – a Manitou Telescopic Telehander – was stolen from a building site in Killyman Street, Moy the previous day.
Detectives are hoping that anyone who might recognise the men will contact them in Lurgan on 101.
A digger was used in an entirely separate robbery in Aughnacloy in Tyrone earlier this month to break into an off-licence. An ATM was damaged in that raid.
