Chinese phone giant Huawei takes over Irish company's software and staff
Big new for Amartus.
CHINESE TELECOMMUNICATIONS COMPANY Huawei has bought the software technology of Irish company Amartus.
As part of the deal, Amartus’ senior team and product staff based in Ireland will join Huawei.
Michael Kearns, the CEO of Amartus, said: “We are excited to be able to bring this innovative technology to Huawei at a time when the telecom’s industry is experiencing unprecedented change, driven by software”.
Under the agreement, Amartus retains the rights to service its current customers.
Zha Jun, President of Huawei’s Fixed Network Product Line, said the company is “delighted to have acquired the groundbreaking Amartus technology”.
The expertise and talented staff from Amartus’ product group who will be joining Huawei will help deliver our commitment to produce and develop innovative and high-quality cloud and network services.
Amartus was founded in Dublin in 2003. It specialises in providing software development and integration services to telecommunication vendors and service providers.
The company is privately held and is headquartered in Dublin, with offices in the US and Poland.
