• Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin said an altercation Fine Gael candidate John McGahon was involved in in 2018 was ‘anything but a scuffle’, adding that images of the injuries are ‘shocking’

• Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael are calling on Sinn Féin to publish its manifesto ahead of a televised debate tonight

• Meanwhile, Fine Gael and Labour feuded yesterday over plans to pause sick-leave arrangements, in our lead story this morning

• Sinn Féin’s Mairéad Farrell and Pearse Doherty discussed their party’s six steps to end the waste of public funds in Dublin

• Green Party leader Roderic O’Gorman and candidates announced work/life balance proposals in Dublin this morning, stating that people should not but paid work before other aspects of their lives

• The Social Democrats announced its 120-point plan for disability legislation reform and proposals for a weekly cost of disability payment in Dublin

• Fine Gael ministers Helen McEntee and Paschal Donohoe have been in Cork this afternoon, promising to create a dedicated Cork City Taskforce within the first 100 days if re-elected

• People Before Profit‘s Conor Reddy published the party’s policies for better protections for those renting and younger people seeking a home, calling for the reinstatement of the eviction ban and a reduction in rents.

• Culture is central to Labour’s announcements today, with party spokesperson Marie Sherlock announcing plans to invest more into the arts 

• One-by-one, political parties have committed to introducing bilingual packaging in their general election manifestos so that the Irish language is included on products in Ireland.
