Man in his 70s sustains head injuries in Meath assault

The incident happened at 3.15am in Ashbourne.

A MAN IN his 70s sustained head injuries in an assault in Co Meath in the early hours of this morning.

The incident occurred in the Brindley Park Square area of Ashbourne at approximately 3.15am.

The man was brought to Connolly Hospital in Dublin. It’s understood he was hit with a shovel.

Gardaí are investigating the incident, but no arrests have been made to date.
