DUBLIN FIRE BRIGADE has advised residents in the Balbriggan area of Dublin to stay indoors and keep their windows closed this morning.

It’s due to a large fire which has broken out at a waste disposal plant in the area.

Dublin Fire Brigade has said it expects firefighting operations to continue “for the foreseeable”.

It also warns that smoke is drifting across a wide area but that this has reduced in volume.

Dublin Fire Brigade added that it has been making “good progress” in dealing with the blaze.

The fire brigade was alerted to the fire at around 6.30am this morning.

Nine units of Dublin Fire Brigade were previously at the scene, but there are currently five fire engines and a water tanker present.
