Post-mortem carried out on body of 90-year-old man found in Co Waterford

Gardaí are investigating “all the circumstances” surrounding the man’s death.

GARDAÍ ARE INVESTIGATING the circumstances surrounding the death of a 90-year-old man whose body was found in a house in Co Waterford.

A post-mortem is being carried out on the man’s body. The results of the post-mortem will help in determining the direction of the investigation.

Gardaí were called to the scene in Ballysaggart, Lismore, Co Waterford, shortly after 5pm yesterday evening. The man was pronounced dead a short time later.

His body remains at the scene, which is currently preserved.

The State Pathologist has been notified and investigating gardaí have also sought assistance from the Garda Technical Bureau.

The course of the investigation will be determined by the outcome of a post-mortem examination, a garda statement said.
