Belfast security alert declared an 'elaborate hoax'

Police in Belfast have declared a security alert at Shore Road in Newtownabbey a hoax.

A SECURITY ALERT at Shore Road in Newtownabbey last night has been declared an “elaborate hoax” by the PSNI.

The alert was raised at 7.50pm and roads were closed in response. Ammunition Technical Officers attended and the area was cleared at 12:40am, according to police.
