Passengers escape as bus catches fire on motorway in Co Laois
The M7 was closed for several hours this morning after the blaze broke out near Junction 21.
A BUS FIRE on the M7 in Co Laois caused disruption for motorists this morning after emergency services were called to the scene.
Gardaí and fire services were alerted shortly after 8.15am to reports of a bus alight near junction 21 on the eastbound side of the motorway.
The fire has since been extinguished, though it caused extensive damage to the vehicle.

Passengers and the driver were able to escape on time and no injuries have been reported, gardaí said.
A section of the M7 between junctions 21 and 22 was temporarily closed as emergency services dealt with the incident, before later reopening to traffic.
Investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
