TRANSPORT FOR IRELAND has published the Christmas and New Year schedules for bus services across the country, with changes in service expected on key holiday dates.
Christmas Eve will see most buses running normally, but there will be no service on Christmas Day, and Sunday or Public Holiday timetables will apply on St. Stephen’s Day and New Year’s Day.
Dublin Bus will continue its Nitelink service late into the night on Fridays and Saturdays throughout December, with extra Nitelink trips on the 11, 13, 18, and 21 December, operating from midnight until 4:00 AM.
Most other routes finish around 11:30 PM daily.

Christmas Eve: All services run normally, last departures around 9 PM
Christmas Day: No service
St. Stephen’s Day: Sunday timetable, most routes start at 9 AM, some local exceptions
27–31 Dec: Normal services
New Year’s Day: Sunday timetable
Christmas Eve: Saturday timetable with last departures around 9 PM
Christmas Day: No service
St. Stephen’s Day: Sunday timetable; Nitelink not operating
27–30 Dec: Saturday timetable with extra morning peak journeys; full Nitelink on 27–28 Dec
New Year’s Eve: Saturday timetable; full Nitelink and 24-hour services
New Year’s Day: Sunday timetable; no Nitelink
Christmas Eve: Normal services until 9 PM
Christmas Day: No service
St. Stephen’s Day: Public Holiday timetable from 9 AM
27–30 Dec: Normal services
New Year’s Eve: Normal services
New Year’s Day: Sunday timetable
