GARDAÍ SEIZED 800 cannabis plants in a search of a warehouse today in Co Cork.
As part of an ongoing operation to tackle the cultivation, distribution and supply of cannabis and other controlled substances in the Munster Region, gardaí from the Garda National Drugs Unit, Anglesea St and Fermoy detective units searched a warehouse at Rathcormac, Fermoy, Co Cork.
During the course of the search, they discovered approximately 800 cannabis plants with a total street value of €640,000 (pending analysis).
The scene has been sealed off and is being technically examined.
Five males, aged in their 20s and 30s, were arrested and are being detained under the provisions of section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 as amended at Fermoy, Midleton and Cobh Garda stations.
