Controlled explosion carried out on ‘suspect’ device at Sandymount Strand
It is understood the suspect device was a historical munition.
A CONTROLLED EXPLOSION has been carried out on a “suspect” device at Sandymount Strand in Dublin.
Gardaí were today alerted to what it described as a “suspect” device.
The Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal team attended the scene and conducted a controlled explosion.
There were no reports of injuries or damage and the area has been declared safe.
It is understood that the suspect device was a historical munition.
