Woman arrested in connection with discovery of man's body released without charge

The man, who was aged in his 50s, was discovered dead on Friday afternoon at a home in Dublin 24.

A WOMAN ARRESTED in connection with the discovery of a man’s body in Cookstown in Dublin on Friday has been released without charge.

The man, who was aged in his 50s, was discovered dead on Friday afternoon at a residence in Dublin 24.

The woman, also aged in her 50s, was subsequently arrested. She has now been released from custody and a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. 

A postmortem examination of the man has been completed. The preliminary results are not being released for operational reasons, gardaí said. Investigations into his death remain ongoing.

Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward and are seeking any available camera footage from anyone who was travelling in the area of the junction of Second Avenue and Cookstown Way, Cookstown, Dublin 24, between 10:00pm on Thursday 26 March  and 1:30pm on Friday 27 March.
