Gardaí seize lots of counterfeit goods in Christmas crackdown

GARDAÍ IN DUBLIN have seized a number of handbags and other items as part of a crackdown on counterfeit goods ahead of Christmas.
Gardaí from the Store Street station say they have “seized large amounts of counterfeit goods” in recent days, as part of their high visibility policing for the Christmas period.
The goods seized include handbags, purses and other accessory items.
An Garda Síochána said they will continue to target traders selling counterfeit goods in the lead up to Christmas and urged the public to be aware of the risks associated with purchasing fake goods and products.

The Road Safety Authority warns that “unsecured or inadequately secured loads can shift when a vehicle is in motion” and may cause:
- Loss of control of vehicle
- Objects to fall on or hit people
- Road obstruction or collision where a driver is required to swerve to avoid fallen items
