A WOMAN AND CHILD received minor injuries last night after their car was struck by a vehicle that had been stolen in a carjacking earlier that evening.
The car was later abandoned by the gang that took it.
According to the PSNI, two women were pulled from a red Volkswagen Polo by six unknown men, in a carpark at Dunbar Link, Belfast, at around 6.50pm last night.
The Polo was involved in a crash on the Falls Road just ten minutes later.
It was later found abandoned, at around 8.15pm, in Devonshire Place.
“Detectives are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the hijacking or the road traffic collision to contact them at Musgrave Police Station,” Detective Chief Inspector Colin Gillis said in a statement.
“I would also appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the car being abandoned in Devonshire Place to also contact Detectives at Musgrave PSNI Station on the non-emergency number 101.”
The two woman who had been sitting in the Polo when it was stolen weren’t injured, but were said to have been left “badly shaken”.
The woman and child hurt in the crash received treatment for minor injuries.
