Youth arrested after holding up Dublin store with fake gun
The robbery took place on Botanic Avenue in Drumcondra earlier today.
GARDAÍ IN DUBLIN have arrested a teenager following a robbery at a convenience store on Botanic Avenue in Drumcondra.
At 4.30pm, a lone male entered the store and threatened staff with what was described as a firearm. He made his escape with a sum of money and was pursued by a staff member. No one was injured during the robbery.
A passing garda patrol, which was made aware of the incident, spotted the youth and gave chase on foot. Gardaí said following “a lengthy foot chase” the male, a juvenile, was arrested on Drumcondra Road and brought to Mountjoy Garda Station where he is currently being held.
A sum of money along with what is believed to be an imitation firearm was recovered when he was arrested.
