'When we're told no, we just find another way to do it': Ranae Von Meding shows us around her Dublin

In our Dublin Drives series, Ranae talks us through her fertility journey and how it’s shaped her entire life and career.

WELCOME TO DUBIN DRIVES with DoneDeal, where we’ll be taking a series of journeys with familiar faces to their favourite spots around the capital.

In this episode we’re joined by activist, social marketer, wedding celebrant, singer, actor, and all-rounder Ranae Von Meding! We collect Ranae in the DS7 plug-in hybrid. A premium French brand, we’re letting our guest decide if she wants an EV journey or if a more traditional combustion engine route is the way she wants to travel.

Collecting Ranae in the heart of the Liberties, we found out what exactly she does for a living:

My real job is I’m a brand comms, and content marketer for Therapie Fertility, which is one of Ireland’s newest fertility clinics. The only reason I ended up working within the fertility space was because of the journey that my wife and I took to have kids and how we ended up going on this really hard journey to have kids, then had to fight for rights for those kids, and had to learn a lot about the fertility space in particular for LGBTQ+ people.”

Before going any further, a necessary refuelling was needed at Container Coffee, located just up the road from Ranae’s home which she admitted kept the entire family sane during lockdown.

Watch the video above as Ranae takes us on a journey through Dublin city while relaying a very different type of journey which is so important to so many families living in Ireland today.
