It'll be a sunny Easter, with temps of up to 16 degrees

Keep the sandals close by, just in case.

KEEP THOSE EASTER eggs in the fridge (or do like we do and scoff them the minute they land in your paw), because temperatures could reach up to 16 degrees this weekend.

Sure, it’s no 20 degrees, but it’ll be nice and warm this weekend around the country if things pan out how Met Éireann expects.

The forecaster said that today will be dry and fairly cloudy at first, with sunshine breaking through in the morning and temperatures to reach around 12 or 13 degrees.

While temps will lower tonight, tomorrow we can expect more sunshine and highest temperatures of 13 – 15 degrees.

Easter Sunday will be dry with good sunshine for most of the day, with highest temperatures of 14 to 15 degrees in many places.

It will be cooler along the Leinster and north Ulster coast, however.

We can expect some isolated showers over Leinster and Munster on Easter Monday, but don’t panic: temperatures will be up to 15 or 16 degrees.

There will be little change on Tuesday, but we will see a bit more rain.

Still, we can handle a bit of rain if we’ve had some lovely sunny spells in between. We’re positive thinkers like that.
