Two gardaí taken to hospital after Edenderry garda station evacuated
It’s understood that gardaí have requested the assistance of the defence forces to the station on Wednesday evening.
EDENDERRY GARDA STATION in Co Offaly has been evacuated and two gardaí have been taken to hospital after falling ill while dealing with items seized in a search operation.
Gardaí confirmed in a statement this evening that the station remains closed due to “operational reasons”.
It’s understood that gardaí have requested the assistance of the Defence Forces to the station on Wednesday evening.
Sources confirmed that two gardaí have been taken to hospital after falling ill while dealing with items seized in a search operation and an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team has been called in.
The station remains closed and the garda statement said no further information is available at this time.
