Fire breaks out at former Revenue Commissioners' offices in Cork city
The fire broke out on the seventh floor of the building.
A FIRE THAT broke out at the former offices of the Revenue Commissioners in Cork city this afternoon has been extinguished.
At 12.04pm, Cork City Fire Brigade responded to a fire call at the offices which are located on Sullivan’s Quay.
The fire was on the seventh floor and two people were reported to be in the building, but the building was searched by breathing apparatus teams and no one was located.
The fire, which was confined to one room on the seventh floor, was then extinguished.
Three water tenders, two hydraulic platforms and an incident command vehicle attended the incident.
After fire services finished at the area at around 1.45pm, the building was handed over to the Gardaí, who are investigating the incident.
Two fire brigade units remain on scene providing assistance.
