78-year-old woman killed in Mayo house fire

Gardaí said they are now investigating the circumstances of the blaze.

A 78-YEAR-old woman has been killed in a house fire in Mayo today.

The incident happened shortly before 2.30pm at a house in Laughtavarrry, Ballyvarry, in Castlebar.

Gardaí in Mayo are now investigating the circumstances of the fire.

The scene is preserved pending a technical examination of the area.
