A FISHERMAN HAS died in Co Galway after falling from a boat on Lough Corrib yesterday.
The man aged in his 50s fell from the boat after it was struck by a wave and a second person attempted to rescue him.
Both men were subsequently airlifted by the Coast Guard to Galway University Hospital suffering hypothermia, RTÉ reports.
However, the first of the two to have entered the water died last night. The second man is understood to be recovering in hospital today.
