1. #TULLAMORE: Bernadette Scully has been charged with the murder of her 11-year-old daughter. The 56-year-old appeared before court today after being arrested at her home earlier this morning.

2. #CHARLIE HEBDO: Minister for Foreign Affairs Charlie Flanagan has said that while there is no imminent threat to Ireland, Ireland is “on alert” following the terrorist attacks that rocked Paris last week.

3. #BANKRUPTCY: Sean Quinn has been ordered to pay €10,000 from his earnings for the next two years, RTÉ News reports.  He is due to be discharged from bankruptcy on Friday.

4. #FLIGHT 8501: The black box from the crashed AirAsia plane has been recovered. Initial analysis of the wreckage suggests the plane exploded on impact with the water.

5. #SCHOOL: A new report has shown the first significant improvement in decades in the standard of English and maths in Irish primary schools.
