2. #GOVERNMENT: TDs look set to elect a Taoiseach at the fourth attempt later today.

3. #ELECTIONS: Election results for council, mayoral and assembly elections around the UK are being counted today, including for the Stormont Assembly in Northern Ireland.

4. #MENTHOL CIGARETTES: A ruling by the European Court of Justice has paved the way for menthol cigarettes to be banned by 2020. 

5. #NORTH KOREA: The country is today holding its most important political gathering for 40 years.

6. #THE WINNERS: One group not complaining about the Luas industrial action are taxi drivers, who have seen a boost in trade on the strikes days.
