Garda sustained 'serious facial injury' in attack at Dublin house

Gardaí were called to a disturbance at a house in Tallaght where the male garda was allegedly assaulted.

GARDAÍ HAVE ARRESTED six people following an incident in which a garda was allegedly assaulted and received a serious facial injury.

At approximately 4am this morning gardaí were called to a house at Redwood Lawn, Tallaght in Dublin, following a report of a disturbance at the property.

When gardaí arrived and entered the house they were confronted by a number of individuals and a male garda was assaulted. He was taken to Tallaght Hospital where he was treated for his injuries. He has since been released from hospital.

Gardaí arrested six people at the scene in relation to the incident including two females and four males ranging in ages from their early 20s to early 50s.

They were detained at Tallaght Garda Station and were subsequently released without charge and a file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
