The Gardaí are using this incredibly cute puppy to try and win us over (again) on Twitter
Look at his little face.
THE GUARDS, AS you may be aware, have a pretty solid reputation on Twitter.
Over the last few years, they’ve been educating us on a staggeringly wide variety of topics — like whether the word should be pronounced ‘vehicle’ or ‘veh-icle’ or whether Blur are better than Oasis.
They post about serious stuff too – it should be added.
Earlier this month, however, they came in for a fair bit of criticism with the below tweet – which many social media users deemed sexist (or at the very least, odd).
They posted an explanation the following night on Facebook (and no-one was hurt in the crash, by the way) – but in the eyes of many, the damage had already been done.

After an uncontroversial few weeks, the guards appear to have stumbled on an ingenious way to win back fans.
Perhaps recalling the near-viral success of their ‘lost cat in Finglas’ tweets at the end of January – the Gardaí have been attempting to win us over today with a lost dog, in Blanchardstown.
