Gardaí appeal to drivers over fatal Galway crash

A 38-year-old woman was killed when her car struck a wall in Colemanstown, Menlough yesterday afternoon.

GARDAÍ IN CO GALWAY are appealing for people who were travelling on the Colemanstown to Gurteen road in Menlough yesterday afternoon to contact them following a fatal single-vehicle crash in the area.

A 38-year-old woman was killed when the car she was driving struck a wall at Colemanstown at around 4.30pm yesterday.

She was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Gardaí have not yet released her name.

The road was closed yesterday to facilitate a forensic examination of the scene but has since reopened.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have been on the road between Colemanstown and Gurteen between 3pm and 4.30pm yesterday to contact Ballinasloe Garda Station on 090 9631890, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
