Gardaí close off Eglington Road for search

The road in Donnybrook, Dublin 4 was closed off for searches last night and this morning. Earlier this month, a pipe bomb was found on the same road.

GARDAÍ CLOSED OFF Eglington Road in Dublin 4 last night and this morning to search the area.

While they would not say what they were searching for, gardaí did say the search took place for “operational reasons”.

The search began late on Sunday evening and was resumed early this morning, with the scene preserved overnight.

Nothing was found during the search.

In an unrelated incident, a pipe bomb was found under a car on Eglington Road in Donnybrook on Tuesday 11 October.

The device was made safe by an army bomb squad and was taken away for examination by the Defence Forces team.
