QUIZ: How much do you know about energy and renewables?

Polish your sustainability vocabulary for your next dinner party.

ENERGY IS AT the heart of everything we do, but that doesn’t mean we necessarily have a great understanding of how our energy system works.

What many of us do understand is that Ireland has a range of sustainability targets it must meet in the coming years and decades. Gas Networks Ireland is aiding that transition by transporting more renewable gas through its network, such as biomethane and green hydrogen, allowing Ireland to unlock long-term potential both for our own energy supply, but also our energy exports.

Biomethane is already flowing through Ireland’s pipelines, and under the Government’s Climate Action Plan, will comprise 10% of gas by 2030. But we can’t give away too many of the details. After all, we’re here to quiz you on your gas network knowledge.

Whether you’re an energy expert or haven’t thought about science since the Junior Cert, give this quiz a go and find out more about Ireland’s energy future.
