US Appeals Court rules on Trump’s tariffs

1. A US appeals court yesterday ruled that many of President Donald Trump’s tariffs, which have upended global trade, were illegal – but allowed them to remain in place for now, giving him time to take the fight to the Supreme Court.

Ireland’s shares in companies linked to occupation of Palestine

2. Ireland has €97m worth of shares in companies linked to ‘occupation and genocide’ in Palestine. The companies were among 48 named on a United Nations list earlier this year.

US denies Palestinians visas for summit

7. The United States has announced it will deny Palestinian officials visas, meaning they will be prevented from attending a UN General Assembly meeting in New York in September, where France has said it will push for the recognition of a Palestinian state.
