Liquidation

Irish travel website close with loss of 14 jobs

The Cork-based travel website had been trading since 1998 and had offices Skibbereen and Boston, USA.

A WEST CORK travel website has announced that it is to cease trading after 13 years with the loss of 14 jobs.
MyGuideIreland.com, which has offices in Skibbereen and Boston, said that the “loss of key merchant account facilities” had led to the decision to appoint a liquidator.

The company provides holidays in Ireland and says that the 500 people who are currently using their services will be able to travel home, RTÉ reports. However, it added that 50 more people may have their holiday plans partially disrupted and that it is doing everything that it can to assist them.

On its website, the company advised customers who had made payments via credit card to contact their credit company.

A freephone helpline has also been established: 1800-927313
