A Mayo woman has died in a car crash in Australia

The woman is believed to be in her 20s.

AN IRISH WOMAN has died following a car crash in Australia, near Melbourne. 

RTE has reported that the woman is from Mayo, and had travelled to Australia in recent weeks. 

The woman sustained fatal injuries in the two-car collision. 

The Department of Foreign Affairs told TheJournal.ie it is aware of the incident, and is providing consular assistance.
