Man has top of ear bitten off in London assault

Police are appealing for information to help find the man responsible for the attack which happened in April.

POLICE IN LONDON are appealing for witnesses to an assault in which the top of a man’s ear was bitten off.

The incident occurred on 11 April just before 10pm on Putney High Street. The 29-year-old man was involved in an altercation with another man and the top inch of his ear was bitten off. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police are now asking anyone who saw the assault to contact them – particularly a woman who they know witnessed it. She is described as having long straight dark brown hair, a leather jacket and blue jeans.

The suspect was of Asian appearance, aged 28-35 and wearing a dark brown suit. He had a shaved head and beard.

“It was a busy time of the evening and I am appealing for anyone who may have seen this incident to come forward,” commented Detective Constable David Richardson, who is leading the investigation. “At one point the suspect was placed in a head lock which people may have witnessed.”
