A CAR HAS overturned in a three-car collision on the M50 northbound this evening, resulting in the partial closure of the motorway.

The road is currently closed but expected to reopen shortly following three-car collision at junction 16 on the M50 northbound at Cherrywood at around 5pm.

None of the persons involved in the collision sustained life-threatening injuries, gardaí said this evening.

The overturned car spilled petrol onto the road with emergency services on the scene currently trying to clean up the petrol before the road can reopen.

It is expected the road will reopen at around 6pm but drivers are warned to expect some delays because of the closure.
