Major Dublin water pipe bursts

Loss of supply to some areas likely.

A PIPELINE SUPPLYING water to north Dublin burst this afternoon and has been shut down until the level of damage has been determined.

Areas on the northside and some in the south will experience reductions in water pressure, and may have cuts to their supply.

Dublin City Council says that it is difficult to determine exactly which areas will be affected, but will be posting more details on their website when more is known. The council is working to provide water via alternative routes.

Motorists have been advised to avoid Marrowbone Lane, Thomas Court, South Earl St, and School St.
