Man arrested, firearm seized, in Kildare

A man in his 50s been arrested and a firearm seized in Co Kildare as part of an ongoing investigation into organised crime.

A MAN HAS been arrested and a firearm seized in Co Kildare as part of an ongoing investigation into organised criminal activity by Gardaí.

Gardaí carried out a search at a house in Allenwood, Co Kildare, yesterday and recovered a firearm (hand gun) and ammunition.

A male aged in his 50s was arrested and is currently detained at Naas Garda Station under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939, at Naas Garda Station.

Enquiries are ongoing.
