GARDAÍ IN KILDARE have arrested a man in his twenties in connection with the death of a cyclist in Carbury yesterday evening.
The suspect in the hit-and-run investigation was arrested at lunchtime today and is being detained at Leixlip Garda Station.
A 61-year-old died in last night’s collision. He was cycling along the Kinnegad to Edenderry road around three miles from Carbury when he collided with a vehicle, which then drove off.
Gardaí have also renewed their appeal for witnesses to the incident, which occured at about 8.55pm on Tuesday.

The arrested man is being held under section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
