Man charged in connection with Belfast flag protests

A 52-year-old man has been charged with various offences relating to the Union flag protests in Belfast.

POLICE IN NORTHERN Ireland have arrested a man in connection with the Union flag protests in Belfast.

Officers from the Operation Dulcet Enquiry Team investigating offences linked to the ongoing flag protests charged the 52-year-old man with various offences including three counts of taking part in an unnotified public procession and obstructing traffic in a public place.

He is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on the morning of Friday 1 March.

As is normal procedure, all charges will be reviewed by the Public Prosecution Service for Northern Ireland.
