A MAN IN his early thirties has been charged over organised criminal activity.
Gardaí said that they have charged a man aged 31 in connection with an investigation into organised criminal activity in the Southern Region.
He is due to appear before a special sitting of Kilmallock District Court this afternoon, today at 4pm.
The man was arrested at Shanagolden, County Limerick on Wednesday morning (29 June) shortly before 3am as part of an ongoing intelligence-led operation targeting organised criminals operating in the south of the country.
He was detained at Henry Street Garda Station, Limerick City under section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 as amended. He remains in garda custody.
