Man due in court over Limerick murder

43-year-old Ger McMahon was found with stab wounds outside a house in Limerick shortly after midnight on 18 January.

A 44-YEAR-OLD MAN is due in court in Limerick today charged in relation to the murder of Ger McMahon.

He was arrested yesterday and was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Roxboro Road Garda station.

He is due to appear before a sitting of Limerick District Court at 2pm this afternoon in relation to the case.

Ger McMahon, 43, was found with stab wounds outside a house on Lenihan Avenue in Ballinacurra Weston shortly after midnight on 18 January. He was pronounced dead after being taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital.

A total of seven people have been arrested in connection with the murder. Two brothers were charged in relation to the death on Friday afternoon.
