19 year old in critical condition after falling through roof of vacant building

The young man sustained serious head injuries in the fall.

A 19-YEAR-old man is in critical condition in hospital this evening after falling through the roof of a vacant premises in Dublin city.

A garda spokesperson confirmed officers and the Dublin Fire Brigade attended the incident at Basin Lane in Dublin 8 at 4.30pm.

The 19-year-old man had been seriously injured after falling more than 20 feet through the roof. It is understood he sustained very serious head injuries in the fall.

He was taken by ambulance to St James’ Hospital where he is said to be in critical condition.

The scene has been preserved for a technical examination.
