Man questioned over Glasnevin stabbing is released

The man was arrested over the stabbing of a man in his seventies. A file is being sent to the DPP.

A MAN BEING questioned by gardaí over  a stabbing incident in Glasnevin has been released.

A file is being sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to this man.

He was being questioned in relation to an elderly man who was injured in an attack at Iona Villas in Glasnevin at about 8am yesterday.

The injured man, who is in his seventies, was treated at the Mater Hospital and his injuries were said not to be  life-threatening.

The 22-year-old man was arrested close to the scene and was questioned at Store Street Garda Station.

Gardaí said they believe there was one other person involved in the incident.
