Two arrested for theft of 15 manhole covers

Gardaí said this evening that the removal or theft of manhole covers is “potentially lethal to road users”.

GARDAÍ IN ENNIS, Co Clare, investigating the theft of a number of manhole covers in the area, have arrested a 17 and 19-year-old in connection with the crime.

In total, 15 covers were recovered following the search of a vehicle at Monreagh Tubber today.

Gardaí said this evening that the removal or theft of manhole covers is “potentially lethal to road users” and has been highlighted both by themselves and the Road Safety Authority.
