SOME 15,000 runners are expected to take part in the Dublin Marathon today with road closures and public transport diversions expected.
Runners will depart from Fitzwilliam Street at 9am with the 26.2 mile route taking them up through the Phoenix Park, south towards Templeogue and east to Belfield before finishing up in Merrion Square.
Diversions are in place from early this morning until 9pm tonight in some places.
There will be heavy restrictions around the south inner city including Merrion Square, Fitzwilliam Square, Holles Street and Mount Street, according to AA Roadwatch.
Dublin Bus services heading southbound from the city centre will be diverted and Luas users are warned to expect delays from until 10am.
Best of luck to all those taking part! Send your pics into tips@thejournal.ie and we’ll publish the best of them later.
