THIS WEEK NASA is marking 50 years of spacewalking. The next planet in our sights is Mars.
With people like astronaut Chris Hadfield stating that he thinks he could see the first person to visit the planet in his lifetime, space experts have to get down the nitty gritty about how humans could realistically survive there.
For the first time since 1982, NASA is in the process of testing new space suit prototypes.
The latest image released by NASA looks more like space suits featured in movies such as Prometheus.
And is a far cry from this vintage number from the 60s.
NASA says that while there are no final designs, future suits will be engineered to ensure planetary exploration. They will include all the advances in technology that will shorten preparation time and improve safety.
