WHETHER A COOL crisp glass of milk on a warm day or a drop poured into your winter morning tea, there are few products as versatile as milk.
There are plenty of competitors these days, but with thousands of dairy farms across Ireland, it’s safe to say that milk remains one of the things that Ireland does best.
As detailed here in the National Dairy Council’s myth-busting booklet, milk is rich in nutrients and important for supporting a healthy, balanced diet. Often dismissed as ‘fattening’ as you’ll see from page three of the myth-busting booklet, a lot more needs to be taken into consideration before labeling an entire food group.
As a society, we drink a lot of milk. We won’t tell you exactly how much we drink in this article because, frankly, that would give away the answers to one of our carefully devised questions.
If you’re curious about Ireland’s relationship with the white stuff or fancy yourself a bit of an expert, take the quiz below to find out how much you know about Irish milk.
