Missing sailor found off Isle of Man

After a air and sea search by four Coast Guards, a Liverpool sailor who was reported missing yesterday by his brother, has been found safe and well.

A SAILOR WHO went missing yesterday in the Irish Sea has been found.

The Belfast Telegraph reports that he was found off the coast of The Isle of Man after an extensive search by Coastguards from Belfast, the Isle of Man and Liverpool and the Republic.

Eddie Bowers disappeared yesterday after telling his brother he was to set sail for the Isle of Man, from the port town of Peel to Ardglass in Co Down.

The Irish Coastguard told TheJournal.ie that they became involved in the search operation when the Belfast Coast Guard requested assistance from the Coast Guard Helicopter in Dublin yesterday afternoon.

Mr Bowers is an experienced boatsman who lives aboard his yacht in Liverpool. It’s understood he lost contact with his brother during his journey yesterday.
