Two men arrested over murder of gangland figure Eamon Kelly

Kelly was murdered while walking on Furry Park Road in Killester in December 2012.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested in connection with the murder of gangland figure Eamon Kelly in 2012.

Eamon Kelly (65) was shot as he was walking on 4 December 2012 on the Furry Park Road in Killester, near Clontarf, shortly before 4pm.

The shooting was condemned at the time and was linked to tension between a number of criminal gangs in Dublin city.

Today, gardaí in Clontarf investigating the murder of Kelly arrested two men in connection with this investigation.

One man is in his mid-30s and the other is in his mid-40s. Both were arrested in Dublin this afternoon and are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 at Clontarf and Raheny garda stations.
