This is what the Nasdaq bell ringing in Dublin looks like
Taoiseach Enda Kenny became the first person to ever ring the opening bell in Ireland.
FOR THE FIRST time ever, the Nasdaq opening bell was rung in Ireland.
This was Taoiseach Enda Kenny doing the deed at the Web Summit in Dublin’s RDS this lunchtime. To the left (in blue t-shirt) is Web Summit founder Paddy Cosgrave, whose event has grown over the past four years to become Europe’s largest tech convention with 10,000 attendees.

The Taoiseach also made a stirring speech in which he said that the ringing of the bell was “symbolic of Ireland’s prime position as a hub of digital enterprise and innovation”. He said that the RDS was “full of the energy of Ireland’s young, skilled and passionate people” and that we are “the most open economy in the western world”.
