Olhausen closes pork plants with loss of 160 jobs

The company ceased trading this morning.

SAUSAGE AND RASHER maker Olhausen has closed its three plants in Ireland, resulting in the loss of 160 jobs.

Workers at the factories in Blanchardstown, Coolock and Monaghan were informed the company had ceased trading this morning.

BDO’s Jim Hamilton was appointed as the Receiver by Ulster Bank. He told employees that the company closed without notice as it is no longer a going concern.

Siptu organiser Colm Casserly said discussions about the payment of outstanding wages and redundancy terms were continuing.
